Thanksgiving…..

It’s Thanksgiving time again in Canada!  I always enjoy this time of year – food and family, what could be better?  Ever wondered why we celebrate Thanksgiving about six weeks ahead of the US?  Find some answers here.  Do you have any traditions, recipes or activities centred around Thanksgiving?  We’d love to hear more – let us know!

Inflation and interest rates are two topics often in the news at present.  We just saw another interest rate cut and more are forecast.  Inflation continues to drop as well.  On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased by 0.2% in August, with notable drops in air transportation, gasoline, and clothing costs.  We just need to see some movement in groceries – food is expensive!

I’ve had a few conversations with clients recently and some of the questions they’re asking include “should I invest or pay down my mortgage?”, “are withdrawals from my TFSA taxed?”, and “what are some strategies to maximize the down payment for my house purchase?”.  If you have any questions whatsoever I’m happy to help where I can – just give me a shout.
